For over 5 years, Supply Engineering has completed projects both locally and in various countries. We have worked alongside an array of professionals and specialised businesses.
Supply Engineering have been working closely with MTM since 2016 on one of their largest power supply upgrade projects the City of Melbourne has seen.
We have reviewed over 30 green and brownfield substations, produced a number of company specifications and scoping documents. We continue to provide ongoing assistance to the core MTM Engineering team.
In 2015 we carried out a full condition assessment of the Adelaide tram. Further to this, we coordinated and managed a new simulation and short circuit study, to assist in the improvement of the tram’s traction power performance.
In 2016 Supply Engineering worked with MGB International to undertake the Verification and Validation of Hitachi’s 1500V DC traction power and OLE designs for Hoh Chi Minh City’s first 1500V DC Metro.
During 2017-18, we have been re-writing and drafting all Wellington DC & HV maintenance task instructions, assisting with the updating of Auckland 25kV task instructions and producing over 20 company standards and specifications. We also re-wrote and consolidated company wide standards for rail electrification competency and safe working ‘On or About Electrified Lines’ .
In 2014/15, we carried out traction power design verification on the new Sydney light rail system’s Provision Design submission This submission incorporated Australia’s first embedded ‘Aesthetic’ traction power contact system.
For this work, Supply Engineering acted as the Client’s representative. This included checking and verifying the Ampang Line Extension’s 750V DC third rail system. This system comprised of ten 33kV/750V DC substations, two bulk intake 33kV sites and various lineside and station equipment.
Supply Engineering re-wrote substation and Over Head Line isolation working instructions, for the tram and 25kV railway. Furthermore, we provided a simplified substation access safety manual in partnership with Andromeda in the UK, one of Network Rail’s leading electrification designers.
In 2014 we provided bidding assistance and concept/feasibility design services to Sydney Trains. This assistance included exploring the use of Inverter and Energy Storage Systems to replace life expired Energy Dissipative Resistors on the Blue Mountains Line.
In 2014 Supply Engineering carried out traction and HV maintenance audits as well as present project related findings and recommendations to the MTR Operations Director in Hong Kong.
